The Town of Fort Fairfield is accepting bids on a 2010 Dodge Charger Police Cruiser, in as is, where is condition. There is no warranty on the vehicle. The vehicle can be viewed by contacting Police Chief Shawn Newell at 207-472-3808.

In order to be considered as a valid bid, bid documents shall be sealed and clearly marked on the outside envelope “Bid for 2010 Dodge Charger Police Cruiser” and include the name of the company or person submitting the bid. Bids for the 2010 Dodge Charger Police Cruiser will be received until 4:00 PM, on May 9, 2018, at the Town of Fort Fairfield Municipal Building, 18 Community Center Drive, Fort Fairfield, ME 04742, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. There is a minimum bid of $3,000. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR


The Town of Fort Fairfield has an exciting full-time job opportunity for the position of Parks and Recreation Director. Applicants must enjoy working with people of all ages in a wide variety of sporting and other recreational activities

Duties include, but are not limited to, planning, organizing, supervising, promoting, maintaining, and evaluating the municipal recreation programs and activities.

It is preferred that applicants possess three years of experience in a recreation leadership role. Academic training in recreation is desired. Coaching experience and general swimming pool maintenance, including the handling of chemicals is also desired.

This position offers a great benefits package that includes: health insurance, retirement plan, paid holidays, vacation and sick time. Salary is to be determined based on experience and education.

Hegemann Named Festival Director

Fort Fairfield native, Meg McLaughlin Hegemann has been named as the new director of the Maine Potato Blossom Festival.

Hegemann has experience planning a variety of events, as well as a deep love for the potato industry and the festival that celebrates it.meg 350 “Working the fields gave me a connection to the land here such that no other place felt like home.” After decades in Missouri, Meg and her husband, Brad, moved to Fort Fairfield in June 2016.

As director, Hegemann will work with existing volunteers and recruit new ones to facilitate the week long event. “The Festival doesn't just celebrate the town of Fort Fairfield, it celebrates an industry that in many ways defines the County. It takes cooperation from a lot of people and places to make it happen. I look forward to working together to make the 2018 Festival one of the best.”

Ruth Reed Mraz Family Memorial Fund Seeking Applicants for Grant Funding

The advisors of the Ruth Reed Mraz Family Memorial Fund are pleased to announce a grant opportunity for non-profit organizations serving Fort Fairfield.

The fund was established in 2008 in memory of Ruth Reed Mraz, a Fort Fairfield native and life long resident and is managed by the Maine Community Foundation. Mrs. Mraz and her husband Arthur had a keen interest in her home town, in particular preserving its history, beauty and traditions. The fund was created to support such projects that benefit Fort Fairfield.

Any non-profit serving the community may apply for a grant of up to $2500.00.  You can download the application form form or obtain one by contacting the Fort Fairfield Town Office or the Public Library. The application deadline is May 15, 2015 and the successful grantee will be notified by June 15, 2015.
