Newcomers find success at 35th Annual Agri-Business Trade Fair

ShowPano

No matter how you slice it, the 35th annual Northern Maine Agri-Business Trade Fair at The Forum in Presque Isle was a tremendous success. More than 3500 people poured into the Trade Fair over the course of the weekend, the bulk of those on Saturday as the aisles were filled with folks looking to get their hands on a wide variety of products and services on display.

More than 60 vendors showed off the latest tools and technology, while there were informative demonstrations and talks held throughout the course of the two-day event. There were many new faces, both in the crowd and displaying their products on the show floor, and it was two of these newcomers who brought home ‘Best in Show’ honors.

Mike’s and Sons, exhibiting in their first trade show ever, displayed no rookie jitters as they more than held their own with their colorful and inviting display of lawn and garden equipment. While the judges had difficulty determining a winner among several of the large dealers, ultimately the inviting, friendly and knowledgeable staff at Mike’s helped them claim the victory as the best large display in the building.

The judges were equally as torn trying to pick the best small booth display at the Trade Fair. The panel of judges had to re-examine the entries they felt had the best booths, and ultimately picked Penner Lumber/Advantage Thermal as the ‘Best in Show’ in the small booth category at the show. While Penner Lumber had displayed at the Trade Fair in the past with other vendors, this was the first year they’d gone solo and built their own exhibit showing off their innovative insulation products.

With exhibitors coming from every corner of the County and beyond, the ultimate winner was the local economy, thanks to an influx of foot traffic and increased awareness about the many area businesses serving the needs of their friends and neighbors. Plans are already being made to enhance next year’s show by the Fort Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, which has organized the event since its inception. Start making your plans now as the 36th annual Agri-Business Trade Fair will be held April 2nd & 3rd in 2016.
