Public Hearing Scheduled for September 8th
on Proposed Wind Energy Development Ordinance

There will be a Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Gymnasium of the Fort Fairfield Municipal Building located at 18 Community Center Drive, Fort Fairfield, Maine.  The purpose of this hearing is to allow for public comments on the following:

Ordinance 15-04: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR:   The purpose of this Ordinance is to provide for all aspects of the planning, construction, operation, repowering, and decommissioning of a WIND ENERGY DEVELOPMENT (WED) in the Town of Fort Fairfield, subject to conditions that will protect the public health, safety, and general well-being.

You can download the ordinance by clicking this link or the ordinance may be reviewed in entirety at the Town Office during regular business hours.  Comments and/or questions should be directed to Tony Levesque, Code Enforcement Officer,18 Community Center Drive, Fort Fairfield, Maine, 04742, or by phone at (207) 472-3805.  Comments will be received until the Town Council takes action at the next Town Council Meeting, September 16, 2015, at 6:00 p.m.

The Fort Fairfield Chamber of Commerce has partnered together with the Frontier Heritage Historical Society on a special t-shirt project to raise funds for both organizations.  The money raised from the sale of the shirts will be split evenly by the two groups, with the Chamber using funds to support local businesses and improve the economic climate of Fort Fairfield and the Historical Society using the funds they generate to help replace the roof on the blockhouse downtown.
